Show and Tell the Hope of Jesus
Show and tell is easy when you are excited about what you are sharing.
That is a picture of witness. When Jesus has saved us, forgiven us, and brought us from darkness to light, we have something to show and something to tell. Evangelism is not reserved for experts. It is the overflow of a life surrendered to Christ.
Romans 10 asks how people will hear unless someone tells them. 1 Peter 3 tells believers to be ready to explain the hope they have.
The question is: are we ready?
Submit To Jesus
Witness begins with surrender.
1 Peter says to worship Christ as Lord of your life. Before we speak for Jesus, we submit to Jesus. Evangelism is not about winning arguments or proving we know everything. It is partnership with the Lord we have surrendered to.
When Jesus is Lord, our lives begin to show His hope. Our words carry more weight because they are connected to obedience.
Stay Ready
Peter says to always be ready to explain your hope as a believer.
Staying ready does not mean you know every Greek word or have an answer to every difficult question. It means you can tell people why you trust Jesus.
You can share what He has done in your life. You can tell the story of grace. You can explain that you were lost and Jesus found you, that you were forgiven, that you have hope because of the cross and resurrection.
Preparedness is not about perfection. It is about availability.
Share Your Life
Witness is personal before it is polished.
People often connect with honest stories. When you share where Jesus met you, healed you, forgave you, or changed you, someone else may realize they are not alone. Your testimony can become a bridge for the gospel.
There is also a corporate witness when the church gathers. Worship, baptism, serving, generosity, child dedication, prayer, and community all show the world that Jesus is alive among His people.
The Good News Is Worth Sharing
Romans 10 says that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
That is why we tell. People need hope. People need forgiveness. People need Jesus. The good news is too good to keep private.
Following Jesus moves us from private belief to public witness.
Show the hope.
Tell the story.
Stay ready.
