Open Our Eyes to the Battle

Some battles are easy to see. Others are not.

Scripture shows us that there is more happening than what is visible on the surface. In stories like Elisha’s servant seeing the armies of heaven and Daniel receiving an answer after spiritual resistance, God reminds His people that unseen battles are real.

But the point is not fear. The point is faith.

We do not move forward by pretending there is no battle. We move forward by remembering that God is greater than the battle.

God Hears From The First Day

Daniel 10 gives a powerful picture of prayer. The angel tells Daniel that from the first day he humbled himself and prayed for understanding, his request was heard.

That matters for anyone who has prayed and wondered if heaven was silent.

Delay does not always mean denial. Resistance does not mean God ignored you. From the first day, God heard.

Keep praying. Keep humbling yourself. Keep seeking understanding. What you cannot see does not cancel what God has said.

Stand Firm

The first rule of engagement is to stand firm.

Standing firm is not confidence in our own strength. It is planting our feet on the foundation of Jesus. It is remembering the victory of the cross when discouragement, temptation, fear, or accusation comes.

The enemy wants resistance to make us retreat. Jesus teaches us to stand.

Stand firm in truth. Stand firm in prayer. Stand firm in worship. Stand firm in the identity Christ has given you.

Submit Your Heart

Standing firm is not stubborn independence. It is surrendered dependence.

We submit our hearts to God. We let Him search us, correct us, lead us, and strengthen us. We refuse pride because pride makes us vulnerable. Humility keeps us close to the One who fights for us.

Spiritual battles are not won by hype. They are won through surrender, prayer, obedience, and faith in Jesus.

Do Not Be Blind To The Battle

If we are blind to the battle, we may misread people, circumstances, and our own discouragement. We may fight the wrong enemy or quit too soon.

Ask God to open your eyes. Ask Him to give discernment. Ask Him to remind you that there are more with Him than against you.

The battle is real, but so is the presence of God.

Reflection Questions

  • Where have you mistaken delay for God not hearing you?
  • What resistance has tempted you to retreat?
  • What truth do you need to stand on right now?
  • Where is God asking you to submit your heart more fully?
  • How can you pray with faith even when you cannot see the whole battle?

Suggested Prayer

Lord, open my eyes to what You are doing. Help me stand firm in Jesus, submit my heart to You, and keep praying with faith. Thank You that You hear me and fight for me. Amen.
